We’re thrilled to welcome Laura Milisavljevic to our teaching team!
A passionate pianist, composer, and educator, Laura brings with her not only years of teaching experience but also a truly unique perspective on how music can inspire, heal, and connect us. Laura’s musical journey began in Hungary, where she studied piano performance at both the University of Szeged and the University of Debrecen. Her dedication and artistry earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with outstanding results. Since then, she has taught at prestigious schools like the Kodály Zoltán Music School, and has performed widely as an accompanist for singers and instrumentalists. Whether in classrooms, rehearsal halls, or concert stages, Laura has cultivated a deep understanding of how music can bring people together.
But what makes Laura stand out is the way she blends tradition with innovation. Her classical training is only one part of her story—she is also a composer with a modern twist. From writing chamber music and choral works to crafting original piano compositions, Laura has always been eager to explore new horizons. Recently, she has stepped into the exciting world of video game music, composing soundscapes, effects, and background tracks for Elflock, an upcoming fantasy adventure game currently in development. (Yes, you can already add it to your Steam wishlist!)
This creative side not only enriches her artistry but also resonates with today’s students, who often encounter music in digital spaces as much as in concert halls. Equally important is Laura’s belief that music should be accessible and meaningful for everyone. She has extensive experience in group piano classes, where learning together fosters confidence, collaboration, and joy. She has also worked in art therapy settings, using music as a tool to help students with different learning styles and challenges express themselves and grow. This empathy and adaptability define her teaching philosophy: every student learns differently, and Laura is committed to finding the path that helps each one flourish. In her lessons, students can expect a supportive, creative environment where technique, imagination, and self-expression come together.
She encourages students not only to master the notes but also to discover their own voice at the piano—whether they’re performing a classical sonata, experimenting with improvisation, or even writing their own music. We couldn’t be more excited to have Laura join our musical family. Her blend of classical expertise, creative composition, and compassionate teaching makes her a wonderful guide for pianists of all ages and levels. Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore music for the first time, an advanced player honing your artistry, or simply curious about where piano can take you, Laura is ready to help you on your journey.
Welcome, Laura! We can’t wait to see the inspiration and creativity you’ll bring to our students and community
