Kristof Urban

Kristof is a composer, songwriter, and producer studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Zeneakadémia). He primarily composes for theatres (Vígszínház) writing original scores that are closely integrated with the dramaturgy of each production, combining acoustic instruments with electronic textures and contemporary production.

Beyond theatre, he is a performer and producer of the band Glencz, where he is responsible for the band’s sonic direction, arrangements, and overall production process from concept to final mix.

Glencz is a young, Budapest-based neo-psychedelic rock and folk fusion band that has been crafting a distinctive sound since early 2023, blending Hungarian folk motifs with elements of rock, funk, modular synths and cosmic vocals to create immersive, contemporary music rooted in tradition yet boldly experimental. Known for electrifying live shows around the Budapest scene and praised for their genre-defying approach, they released tracks like mégaztmondják in 2026 and earlier works drawing from folk-inspired material. Glencz’s innovative blend of styles earned them a place among the winners of the 12th Hangfoglaló Program, highlighting them as one of Hungary’s most exciting emerging acts.
