This April, something exciting is happening at International Music School Budapest.
From April 4 to April 25, we’re launching a 4-week interactive songwriting workshop designed to prove one simple idea: songs aren’t magic — they’re built. And anyone can learn how.
Across four Friday afternoons (2–4 PM), participants will move step by step through the real creative process of writing a song. We’ll begin by exploring what makes music feel powerful — how verses tell a story, why choruses stay with us, and how tension and release shape emotional impact. From there, we’ll generate lyrical ideas together, experiment with melody, choose a groove, and slowly watch a shared musical identity emerge.
The workshop is hands-on, collaborative, and practical. There’s no overcomplicated theory and no pressure to be “talented.” Instead, we focus on making decisions, trusting ideas, and learning by doing. As the weeks progress, we refine lyrics, shape arrangements, and prepare for recording — until the final session, when the group steps into the studio to capture the finished piece.
By the end of the course, participants won’t just understand songwriting — they’ll have created and recorded an original song together.
If you’ve ever wanted to write music but didn’t know where to start, this is your invitation. Join us and experience how a song comes to life — from a blank page to a final track.
